27 may 2007, Sunday Goodbye Singapore! Hello Macau! Reached Macau at about 3pm, waited for awhile for my luggage to roll out. Walked out of the airport feeling lost. Cos it the 1st time I do not have any documents for my hotel not even the location though I had the address. But it not in mandarin. So I took a map from the visitor lounge, took me a long walk to get it then back to the cab station. And I met our fellow Singaporeans at the taxi stand, one is enough to ask me where I got my map and able to walk to take himself, but the other, which in this case are aunties, asked me where I got my map and conveniently borrowed it when my cab is INFRONT of me. Argh! I had to give up my map and take the taxi to the hotel without knowing where is it for crying out loud!!! Yeah as expected the taxi driver did not know where it was because I wrote the Portuguese address instead of the mandarin characters, Rua de Pequim, Metro Park Hotel. Thank goodness I had the telephone number so I dropped a call and wala, I got to the hotel in 15mins, without being charged extra. Well so far I took the taxi twice and both drivers are quite nice because they do not go rounds where some local ppl tell me about it. First Ferry to Kowloon, HK Goodbye Macau, Hello HK! 1730 ferry to HK. Reached HK at 1830, coming out of the custom took me awhile cos they had to verify my photo on my passport and me?+_+||| I look different again argh~~ Walking out, looking out for familiar faces, oh there I saw Olivia.. yey!! So nice to see an old friend. Weather in HK was a little bit wet, but still manageable. Walked abit to a Teochew restaurant which Yip siu jie booked.. haha the rest of them are LATE!!! Siu keung, billy, ah man (oliviabf) then ah ko n peggy (ko gf) arrived. Kenneth missed out the dinner but anyway he called and had a little chat although I only understand 10% of the whole conversation with him.. sorry Kenneth but u spoke too fast and my Cantonese is only like 486?hehe The whole dinner was like a gathering more for them cos I really didn know what to talk about?I could make out what they were talking about but I just couldn carry on the conversation so I jus stuff my mouth with food.. haha Took a walk to Tsim Sha Tsui, it looked like out Esplanade I was pretty lucky to be able to see HK Island (Central) that night cos its always covered up by the mist and hardly was there a chance to view the opposite island. Hmm I shld really get a holiday in HK and walk the bits of land there. Dessert time!! Had the local herbal tea.. Ya Sei Mei.. my favorite.. I don understand why they say its bitter but the fact is it not! Bitter gourd juice is bitter. Up next is the mango dessert~~ yummylicious I say, its really good! Wanted to choose something else, but everything is in Big5 argh I don want to waste time. So I followed what the rest ordered.. its good! We walked the Avenues of stars (xing guang da dao) saw a lot of autographs and handprints by the artiste but I only know like 10% of them.. the more familiar ones like Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Leslie Kwok, Andy Lau (hui! I took the pic for u! say thanks to me ah!!!!) I mistook lau ka leong for luo ka leong, so fen sorry I cant find it and I also didn find lam fong?wahaha~~ Hey guys, thanks for the dinner n dessert.. I love the dessert its fantastic.. Nice to meet u all in HK, thanks for making time to meet up with me, and staying out so late on a Sunday night. Feel so bad for having to keep u all waiting with me for the last ferry. Paiseh.. thank you again.. hugs to all Let me know if any of u are coming to sg, let me play host to bring u all round~~ yey!! God Bless 28 may 2007, Monday 1am I back at Macau again Got up at 8am, was thinking whether to have room service or go down to the restaurant for breakfast.. in the end I decided to go for buffet breakfast?SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> nothing much to choose from, pretty standard selections. 10am the MD & Technical Manager picked me up and off to work I go! The only bit of industrial area left in Macau is located in Taipa. Not a very fantastic place but decent. Time past fast here.. lunch time.. and its buffet again.. went to Crown Hotel, and to get to the restaurant u need to go thru the casino 1st.. and woah the casinos are really huge and very grand.. like those u see in las vegas.. and some better! There a lot of development potential in Macau, larger hotels, larger casinos. 5.30pm I knock off.. and head bk to hotel, thinking of where should I go for dinner and what should I do.. not in the mood for shopping since we have our GSS back hm. At abt 7pm i took a walk outside, walked to the Wynn hotel, wow im glad I walked there! It looked great and the musical fountain there enchanting when music is played. I managed to see one repertoire, Pocohantas. So nice?. the night view is also great. Decided to walk back to hotel cos I didn want to stay out too late jus in case I get lost. I still have the language barrier.. my canton is still very horrible.. haha Had dinner at a ha zan teng?I had zhu par fan (pork chop rice) and iced milk tea?/P> I not sure was it the dinner or something I ate, I had stomachache at 12am.. Until 3am then I managed to get good sleep?luckily I brought some Chinese medicine with me else I not sure if I can work the next day. 29 may 2007, Tuesday Woke up late today, took a quick shower and made sure all my things are nicely packed in my luggage.. Though I didn understand why my stuff increased even though I did not do any shopping.. Checked out at 10am, paid the bills then left my luggage at the hotel and off to work again.. Work ended early today, and Garry drove me around for abit and took me to get the authentic peanut candies didn get to try any egg tarts thou, my favorite sobsob.. Decided to come back to the hotel and type this piece report. I could not get online cos I have to pay and I just cannot find any reason to pay for the internet fees?and it not cheap. So sorry guys, I can MSN any of u.. But I bought some candies for u.. hehe Ok it 6pm now.. it will take me 20 min to the airport, have my dinner then walk around see what on sale?though I think Singapore DFS are better and I need to be there check-in @ 10pm, flight is @at 12am.. yawnz.. tired.. boss.. can u let me reach the office later?? Otherwise u will see a panda on the loose?china will look u up?/P> tata |
